For all the reporting they've done on him, you'd think Ron Paul didn't exist. He's one of three candidates left in a Republican field that started with eleven, and yet you'd never know he was one of the last three survivors. If he was on American idol he'd be making headlines. I'm reading the Vampire Academy series by Richelle Mead and I think I like the second book even better than the first. I loved "Vampire Academy" but she really outdid herself with "Frostbite." These young adult paranormal stories will definitely please the over thirty crowd as well as teens. The story picks up shortly after the first book. It has the same great characters and a few new ones.

I just finished reading "Teen Works: Four Teens Tell All: A Guide For Finding Jobs" by Noreen E. Messina. I am heavily involved in the teen job industry as the owner of a teen job board and as such I try to read as many books on the subject as I can. My initial thought when I first pick up this book was, not another one. It seems like this is a very saturated niche. I must say that I was pleasantly surprised and found the book to be very informative and entertaining. In fact, it is one of the best books that I have read on this topic.

I just finished reading "What color is your parachute for teens" by Richard Nelson Bolles. As a career counselor and owner of a teen job board, I have ready almost every book available in the teen jobs category. I had really high expectations for this book based on the huge success of the "What color is your parachute" franchise.

I just finished reading, "Teen Dream Jobs : How to find the job you really want now!" by Nora E. Coon. I must say that I was not overly impressed with the content of the book. As the title suggests, the book is about helping teens find jobs.

A good book is one that you can't wait to get back to, and when you are finished, you wish there was more. This book is well written, with a well thought out plot. It is easy to read and yet deep enough that you find yourself reading it again in order to understand the full meaning and depth. Attention Harry Potter fans - here is a new series for you!

Marjane Satrapi's engrossing, poignant, and sometimes hilarious "graphic memoir" Persepolis (2003) is further proof that the graphic novel itself has come a long way since the days of Superman, Batman, Hellboy, and those other superheroes we idolize in our popular culture. However, I believe young adults will find Satrapi's memoir of growing up during the 1979 Islamic Revolution in Iran, and the bloody Iraq-Iran War that followed, no less appealing than the flashy comics they normally read during their spare time, and for a few very good reasons.
