Hating Thin People Won't Help You Lose Weight
I recently bumped into an old acquaintance of mine; I wouldn't call him a friend and just somebody who was an associate of an associate. Now this guy is an extremely negative person.
He was always complaining about never having any money. He complained about how life was unfair, how things were always so difficult and how his ex-wife was bleeding him DRY, how his kids always wanted new shoes or money for this or money for that He always had a constant complaint about his financial difficulties.
Whenever anything popped up about somebody we knew who was doing well and he would really lay into them saying Who does he think he is? He thinks he's flashy! He's changed.
Well and this wasn't true at all; this guy just had a really big problem with money.
If someone in the media, such as certain footballers, were getting X amount of money, he would say it was ridiculous, a load of crap and that they didn't deserve it. (now I know a lot of us think this and pass comment and but this was an obsession) Even coming down to the fine details, such as if someone drove by in a nice car, or someone we knew had done well for themselves and bought a new car and he would rip into them. He really had a problem with people who were earning good money; he thought any kind of wealth should be attacked.
When someone would drive by in a BMW and he would say, Oh, they think they're flash because they're in a nice and big car. What's the point of having a car like that? The insurance must cost a fortune! Why would anyone want a nice car like that around here? Somebody will probably just come along and scratch it.
At the same time and his main concern with himself was that he had no money!
The point I'm trying to get over is that he had a real problem with people with wealth, and subconsciously, he hated them, and strong a word as hate is and I would say he really hated people with money.
How hard do you think his own subconscious works to stop him from becoming something he hates?
SABOTAGING YOURSELF
If an opportunity every came along for him to do well for himself, such as a job or business opportunity and can you see how his brain would sabotage him to make sure that he didn't get it?
Your brain works to make sure that, if you hate something with such a passion that it causes strong emotions in you and your body will protect you from it.
He hated wealth so much that he sabotaged every opportunity he had. And it got me thinking
During my workshops, I work with many people who are overweight and I talk about naturally thin people. That's who we need to study if want to be healthy. You don't study sick people, you look at healthy people, and see what they're doing, so we look at natural and thin people.
Naturally thin people eat! They eat chips, cake, cookies, biscuits and often they don't exercise like crazy. But so many people who are overweight will look at thin people and really attack them. They say, I wouldn't want to be that skinny. I wouldn't want to be like that. Now why is that a problem you may ask
So many overweight people have such venom toward thin people; it's the same as the person who is poor and hates people with money.
You're going to stop yourself from becoming the thing you hate. So if you're overweight and you want to lose weight, you want to become slim or whatever your ideal weight is and you really need to think about your choice of language. Really think about your words; and think about the weight you want to be and work toward it.
Now don't get me wrong - there is size zero, which disgusts me and so many people come to me seeking that. Agencies get in touch with me and saying Will you help some of our clients? Unfortunately they're a size eight (uk) and we need to get them to a size six. (uk) I won't go near them and regardless of what the financial gain is - I won't help anybody in that respect.
Sometimes we don't like thinner people; sometimes and we don't like somebody who is a size zero. But really try to focus ON exactly the weight you want to be and work toward it. You need to have a target weight which you're going to work toward. And along the way, be very and very careful of your language.
