If there is one thing social networking has accomplished and to such great effect, it's creating powerful new ways to share information and communicate. Social networking focuses on creating online communities by bringing together people who share the same interests. Social network services are more often than not web-based, providing users with various means for interaction in the form of instant messaging services and electronic mails. Considering how far social networking has come, early attempts at social networking websites would feel laughable in comparison. Early models such as Classmates.com and SixDegreees.com focused more on connecting ties with school mates and tracing indirect ties with strangers, rather than encompassing all the tools that are now present in contemporary social network services. This section is all about social networking.

Every week at my Real estate company's sales and brokerage meeting the topic of marketing comes up. Someone will mention Facebook (that's a whole different story) which is always closely followed by a comment about Twitter.

When MySpace really came to prominence several years ago, I remember thinking, "Wow!, It really couldn't be any better than this!" and I was wrong. The social marketing resources on the web today absolutely blow MySpace away and I am not trying to diminish MySpace in any way. Today there are at least 5 major players...
