Personal Skin Care Should Be A Daily Routine

Posted by Ryan English on Aug 28, 2008

Almost everyone realises the importance of personal skin care. How-to opinions and options differ from person to person.

Some people consider that attending to beauty salons every other day is quite enough for proper facial care. Other group of people believes that skin care involves applying just some cream or lotion that is suitable for your skin type. And there are some people who believe that personal beauty care is a special procedure that is done only once a month/a year, while others are busy with personal facial care all the time.

Of course, personal skincare is not as complicated as you may think and neither as expensive as one may consider. The skin care is just a simple routine to be done to meet the needs of skin.

So below you will find all basic and important steps you should do in your personal facial care routine:

1. Determine your skin-type

First of all, you need to know your skin type (if it is dry, oily, sensitive, combined or normal). Only then you may choose and buy the most suitable remedies for your personal skin care (it is quite possible, you will experiment with several products to decide which suits you best).

2. Cleansing

A daily routine for normal skin:

The first part of personal skin care is of course, cleansing which involves the three main ingredients like water, oil and surfactants (wetting agents).  The last second ingredients help remove dirt and extra oil from your skin, while water flushes it out and completely cleanses your skin. It is better to prefer soap-free cleansers. Also, remember to apply for cleansing only luke WARM water.  But do not over-cleanse the skin, otherwise you may damage it.

3. Exfoliation.

The next step in the personal skin care is exfoliation. When you remove the dead skin cells, you help it rejuvenate in natural way. Besides, to remove the dead skin cells is very vital to provide more effectiveness of any skin care remdies, though not everyone realizes it. It is better to do exfoliating 4-5 times a week for normal/oily skin, and 1 or 2 times a week for sensitive/dry skin.

4. Moisturizing

This important part of our daily personal skin care is mentioned to provide the youth and beauty of the skin for a longer time. Every skin type, even oily skin needs moisturisers. They not only provide the skin cells with the moisture, but also, if needed, attract some additional moisture from air. But do not overuse them; otherwise you may clog pores and harm your skin.

It is better to apply the moisturiser when your skin is still damp.

5. Sunscreen

Today most moisturizers are combined with sunscreen against UV radiation. Such remedies can be applied on all days (no matter it is cloudy or sunny).
