The skin cancer is the form of cancer that forms in the skin tissues and which is the most common. Despite being very common most of cancers in most cases it is not lethal and people live long with it. There three types f the skin cancer; melanoma which affects the pigment cells, basal cell carcinoma which affects the base of the outer skin layer and the squamous cell carcinoma which affect the flat cells that form the skin. Most of these cancers affect the old people especially on the places that are exposed to the sun. There are over ten million new cases of skin cancer in the world but with less than a hundred deaths annually. According to a new report out of the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) Tanning beds / Sunbeds cancer danger is equal to that of cigarettes and asbestos. Where once it was "probable", the risk today is rated more seriously - the agency is now calling for these devices to be labeled "carcinogenic to humans". Those who use them risk becoming bronzed, healthy looking cancer patients.

There are 3 common forms of skin cancer and these 3 are classified according to the types of cells affected. The most common form of skin cancer is called as basal cell carcinoma. To prevent skin cancer better avoid exposing your skin to the sunlight between 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. when the rays are at high intensity. In unavoidable conditions apply sunscreen lotions, Comfortable dressings to cover your hands, neck, face and head.

As we move toward beach season, we'll all be spending more time outdoors and raising our chances of joining the ranks of the 1 million people the American Cancer Society tells us are diagnosed with skin cancer each year, which is why it's vital not to ignore skin cancer warning signs. Experts firmly believe many of these cancers are sun related, which means there are things you can do, even in the summer or at the beach, to protect yourself and those you love from this most common of cancers.

Age spots, liver spots, sun spots or whatever they are called are very often counted to be a sign of skin cancer. People are not always even aware of what different skin marks are - moles, warfs and lentigo are often mixed up with liver spots (Melasma). I will reveal here some of the myths about skin cancer and look quickly into other skin marks also.

As summer approaches, we are all reminded how quickly the beautiful, warm sun causes premature aging and also skin cancer. But is there a balance between enjoying the sun and also have piece of mind knowing you are reducing your risk of skin cancer? Absolutely.

There is a definite relationship with skin cancer or a more serious form called malignant melanoma to excessive sun tanning, and not using protective lotions that block harmful UV light rays from damaging your skin. This can lead to cancer of the skin especially if excessive amounts of sun tanning takes place throughout your life.

Skin cancer is one of the deadliest type of cancer. It can take up to 15 years to develop but you can do something before that happens to prevent it. Drink green tea.
