Have we forgotten what Schalk Burger has done for south Africa and do we not always use the adage form is temporary and class is permanent? Why then is it almost impossible for any South African to believe that he should start on the flank for South Africa in Australasia.

Rugby's greatest rivals, the Springboks and the All Blacks are set for a titanic showdown in Bloemfontein. The Springboks are on a quest. They are the current World Champions and have just beaten the British and Irish Lions. There are no bigger prizes left to accomplish, but they are determined to reclaim their number 1 ranking and the Tri-nations from the All Blacks.

The Bulls became the dominant team of Super rugby for the last few years when they demolished the Chiefs by 61-17 at Loftus Versfeld, Pretoria in the Super 14 final. The scenes were unBULLievable as the stadium was packed with a sea of blue. And the Bulls dominated everywhere on the field as they became the Super 14 champions, and quite simply the best team in the world.

Here in South Africa rugby is the national sport of the country. Unlike soccer rugby is only being played in a few countries, and one of them is South Africa.

It's that time of year again - the 2009 Six Nations Championship is underway in Europe until the end of March, pitting national teams against each other for victory. Anyone who has been watching Wales since Warren Gatland and Shaun Edwards took over the Welsh rugby side in late 2007 has to have been impressed with what they have managed to do. They took a side that, just a few months previously, had been knocked out of the 2007 Rugby World Cup in the pool stages by relative rugby minnows Fiji and led them to a Grand Slam title, beating all before them.
