Frontline Flea Medication - Always Apply Correctly

Posted by Dave Tee on Apr 30, 2009

Applying Frontline flea medication may seem like a simple matter but many owners do not seem to apply it correctly. Firstly it should always be applied in two places. The front and the rear of your Dog. What many seem to fail to do is to ensure that it comes in to direct contact with the animals skin.

Frontline flea and tick treatment works by being spread by the Dogs oil glands and therefore for it to work efficiently it must be put directly ON to the skin. It is always advisable to get a helper if at all possible when applying. Get a firm hold of your pets collar so it cannot jump when the COLD liquid touches its skin. You then need to ensure that the fur is parted right down to the skin. This is very important. After you can see the skin squeeze half of the capsule direct. It must make contact with the skin of your Dog. You then need to repeat this when applying above your animals hips.

Failure to apply as prescribed will mean it works at less than optimum levels and could lead to having to reapply sooner rather than later. Follow the directions and it will work efficiently for a minimum of a month. Frontline flea medication is very effective but is most be used correctly. Flea and tick treatment should always be handled with care and ensure you apply it safely. Keep it well away from your eyes and your pets and always bear in mind the curiosity of Young children. Keep it well out of their reach.
