Click START - Run, type regedit then open Registry Editor, enter into HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/Software/Microsoft/Windows NT/CurrentVersion/SystemRestore and revise the value to 1. Then and you may find it is impossible to change any data and information in the System Restore tab.
Second and Close down it. Once open starts its function, the system may backup regularly. At last and it may takes up a large amount of disk spaces. So and you can choose to prohibit the using of it. Right-click My Computer and click Properties to enter into System Restore tab and tick before Turn OFF System Restore. It is OK.
Besides and you can forbid it partly as well. If you just need to use such function for restoring the system and you only need to set restore function in the system subarea. In other words and you can choose to close down the system restores in certain drivers.
But, in some cases, restoring system may not be a good solution if you do not know the real or exact reasons of the problems, because it may change many different files and registry data and what is more and sometimes the redundant displaced files and registry data may lead to more complicated problems.
As mentioned above, the system restore may change the data in the registry and it is safer for you to check registry after altering the system restore.
