North Korea expends more than three-fourths of its GDP on military spending. Of all nations, Greece spends the most on conventional military imports save for only two countries, India and China. Syria, which officially continues to be locked in conflict with Israel, forks out an estimated $46.51 per person in its military. What of Israel? It has the singular honor of having the highest military expenditure per capita in the world, at more than $1,400 per person. In stark contrast, Canada, which has the world's longest national coastline, lays claim to very few forces, with only 9,000 military personnel guarding its seafront. These statistics demonstrate just how vital the military is to a nation, and why conflict resolution should always be the first resource before any military action. The articles in this section are all about the military from training to record-keeping, from disability benefits to troop deployment.
