Do you suppose that the happiest people are those with the most money and the fewest struggles? One might think that would be the case and so you might be surprised to learn that the happiest people are those who have made up their minds to be happy and who realize they are the ones in charge of their own well being. The happiest people are also typically those who are grateful for every blessing in their lives

Rather than waiting for the perfect job or the perfect wife or husband to come along and rescue them and the people who are truly happy realize that they do not have to wait for their horoscope to bring their glad tidings or for the stars to align in their favor, they know that they themselves hold the key to their own personal happiness.

Think for a moment about what is going ON in your life. Do you have a family that cares for you and gives you love and support even during the times when you feel like you do not deserve it? If so and you are blessed. Do you have a warm home to shelter you and food to eat when you get hungry? Are you fortunate enough to have a job that you enjoy even though it may have its' ups and downs? If so and you are blessed. There are a lot of people who are not able to enjoy that particular blessing right now.

Are you able to get inside a car and drive wherever you may desire to go without having to get permission from someone? Are you lucky enough to have a pet who adores you even when you are thoughtless and ignore them when what they would like more than anything in the world is a little attention from you?

Are you able to see the sun as it rises in the morning if you choose and to also see it set in the evening after having been given the gift of another day of life? Are you able to hear beautiful music and birds chirping and the sounds of children at play?

There may be things that you desire that you do not yet have, but think for a moment of all that you do possess and be grateful be very and very grateful.
