Why Milton Friedman Was A Libertarian
By: Lance Winslow | 2009-10-22 | Politics
We all know that government often wastes our money and starts well-intentioned social programs, but as soon as they start giving stuff away, everyone goes and puts their hands out and the programs keep growing and costing more. Eventually they are giving to those who do not deserve it and they continue to tax us to pay for it. We personally, would never give to support folks that do not deserve it but somehow our government does. |
2010 Trends In Economic Development
By: Lance Winslow | 2009-10-20 | Economics
One of the biggest challenges of economic development is getting jobs into the area, and since we are in a jobless recovery, and the stimulus package whereas, it might have helped a little bit, it certainly is not providing very many jobs. Some economic development associations in some areas are trying to provide jobs in the alternative energy sector, or in green technologies, but none of that is moving very fast right now. Many believe things will not accelerate in that area until after 2015. |
Who Says No One Could Have Seen The Us Housing Crash Coming - A Book Review
By: Lance Winslow | 2009-10-16 | Economics Book Reviews
Many politicians and even the media claim that no one saw the housing bubble burst coming. Well, that is so silly, it's almost ludicrous as anyone that studies real estate cycles, or economics would agree. Still, if you happen to be amongst the masses who actually believe such purported media claims, I'd sure like to recommend a very good book to you. The book is called: |
System For Swarm Searching The Non-shallow South Seas
By: Lance Winslow | 2009-10-13 | Future Concepts
Is there a way to map the bottom of the Marianas Trench, or other points which are the deepest in our oceans, without sending submarines, or larger robotic vehicles down to those depths. Indeed, I believe there is a way, and I'd like to propose a potential innovation which could solve this problem, to help us with more clues as to what is down there, what species live at the bottom of our oceans, and what minerals are down there that we may need up here on the surface. Now then, let me explain a potential invention. |
Is Iran Already At War With The Usa? Yes
By: Lance Winslow | 2009-10-12 | Pure Opinion
Many people believe that the Iranian government has the right to peace time nuclear power. Therefore, they should be allowed to enrich uranium to use in their nuclear power generation stations. The Iranians have gone out of their way to use media propaganda putting them in the best possible light claiming the US, UN and IAEA is not being fair to their needs. |

By: Lance Winslow | 2009-10-11 | Non Fiction Book Reviews
Ever wonder what really led to the devastation of the lower ninth ward in New Orleans after that levee broke? Well, if so, let me recommend a very good book to you; "The Great Deluge," by Douglas Brinkley. You will find much of the reality behind the scenes, much more interesting than the created reality of the mass media during that time and long afterwards. |
Federal Trade Mark And National Brand Keyword Internet Buying Considered
By: Lance Winslow | 2009-10-08 | Trademarks
If you own a company which is doing well in the market place, I am certain that you've had problems with cyber-squatters trying to register various versions of your company name. It is quite time consuming to track them down or file a complaint when your registered service mark or Federal Trade Mark is violated in this way. It is just part of the Internet and a part of doing business. |
Better Check With City Hall Before Starting Your Home Based Business
By: Lance Winslow | 2009-10-05 | National State Local
In the 1980s and 1990s many cities had ordinances that prevented people from operating a business from their home. They used zoning ordinances to prevent these things, and often they did them to assist local developers who had built office complexes. Also, many suburban areas didn't want people working out of their home, delivery trucks coming up to the door, or customers showing up at a residence in using the curbside for parking. |

Many wealthy individuals plan on leaving some of their kid's inheritance monies to nonprofit groups. The wealthiest people start foundations and start funding it in their later years. Many estate planners are now telling their clients, advising them to cut out some of their nonprofit gifting. |
It's Politics As Usual For Bernard Goldberg
By: Lance Winslow | 2009-09-30 | Politics Book Reviews
The amount of political banter in this nation is quite humorous at times, and yet, so much of the reality we use in comedy is muffled due to the politically correct nonsense. After all, in America there are still things you just cannot say, even though we are afforded "free speech" in our founding documents. |
Glory Days And Track And Field Stats Considered
By: Lance Winslow | 2009-09-29 | Track and Field
Back in the day we were all more agile, had more endurance, stamina, and those of us who ran track remember when. Not long ago, I was reliving these glory days with an online acquaintance. Remembering the good ole' days when I was full of piss and vinegar and had the records to prove it. |

Driving a Hummer can be extremely fun, and you definitely feel like you are King of the Road. Of course, when you drive such a large vehicle you have to remember that it is wider than other cars and very difficult to park in those small parking stalls in today's modern shopping centers. Did you know you can rent a Hummer very cheaply these days? |
Counterfeit $20 Bills On The Rise - Expect Them!
By: Lance Winslow | 2009-09-10 | Retail
Whenever there is a recession, there is more counterfeit money floating around in the economy. If you think about it, it makes total sense from an economic standpoint, and also from a microeconomic observation. People need money to live and pay their bills, so, when the economy has less cash floating around, everyone is under more stress, folks need to work harder to make the money to live, and with less money around they are unable to meet their obligations. |

Many of those who study world affairs, international politics, and perhaps, read Foreign Affairs magazine each month; they understand that the biggest new development and for the next two decades will be the rapid economic growth of China. The United States has been fueling the Chinese build-up as their GDP has hit the number three spot in the world and slightly slipped back to number four, although it will soon pass both Japan and Germany in GDP. |

Mining The Seafloor By Ship Considered
By: Lance Winslow | 2009-08-27 | Industrial Mechanical
There is often copper and gold at the bottom of the ocean, sometimes several times more concentrated by percentage in the rocks than that which is found on land or that mining companies dig up in their mining operations. This makes sense when you think about it, and when such raw materials are found at the bottom of the ocean, often the material is under just loose sand, which is easy to remove to get to the harder rock, which is full of minerals, minerals which are very valuable on the open market these days. |

By: Lance Winslow | 2009-08-24 | Venture Capital
It seems as if all the entrepreneurs are out trying to find angel investors to put up the capital so they can fund their next start-up business. Perhaps, they have a great invention that it will rock the world and be the greatest thing since sliced bread. Of course, they need lots of money to bring it to market. |
Music And The Human Brain - Book Review
By: Lance Winslow | 2009-08-24 | Music Book Reviews
Have you ever noticed that folks that have a musical background happen to be smarter than other people? Scientists, neurologists, and clinical psychologists have noted this and there is very strong evidence that this is not a fluke, but that there is a very real reason as to why this is, that goes deep into the biological human system, even down to the cell level. |
Ask Your Team What Business You Are In Before You Innovate
By: Lance Winslow | 2009-08-21 | Innovation
Research and innovation is a wonderful thing, and often companies that spend the most money in research and development have the greatest rewards in profits later on. Many top business professors will claim that research and development money spent is like money in the bank. Those corporations that run their research and development teams around the clock even during a recession are usually the ones to emerge with the best profits in the future. |
Medical Bankruptcies Continue To Surge Amidst The Obamacare Proposal
By: Lance Winslow | 2009-08-20 | Bankruptcy Medical
While it is true that most of the foreclosures happening in the United States were caused by substandard mortgages, and/or the fact that many people have lost their jobs and can no longer make payments, there is also another reason for the foreclosure rate. Many people have filed for bankruptcy due to medical bills piling up. |
