The world has gone coffee-mad. Coffee consumption dates back as far as the 9th century. From its discovery in the highlands of Ethiopia, it soon made its way to Egypt and Yemen, Italy, the rest of Europe, and then the Americas. Today, coffee runs a close second to water as the most popular drink in the world, and is the world's most used product second to oil. The manufacture and marketing of coffee provide work for 100 million people. Surprised? Don't be. After all, roughly 1400 million cups of coffee are consumed worldwide.
