Bergamo is a city with around 120,000 habitants, located in the northeast of Italy. It is only 40 km away from Milan.  

According to the latest news, Bergamo is ready to host the 2015 World Championships which is a cycling mega sports under Union Cycliste Internationale (International Cycling Union). The 13-kilometre city course will be mainly held in the upper city of Bergamo.

Father of Bergamo-Orio airport, Ilario Testa witnessed the development of the airport from 1993 when the first flight took off from the airport. He was in the position of president of the Sacbo which is the operation company of the airport from 1993 until the year of 2008 when he suddenly died. It is him who sensed the potential of low cost airlines and led Bergamo from a small airport to be now the third Italian airport.
