Audio Streaming Articles

Audio streaming is part of the developments that have been made in streaming media. In the early days of computing, audio streaming was believed impossible. After all, computers did not have enough bus bandwidth and CPU power to support the necessary data rates. Then too, it was very, very difficult to avert buffer underruns. Multimedia content is huge; thus, it has to be compressed first before it can be stored, transmitted, and then stored again. Thanks to innovations in computer networking and Internet power, streaming media became not only possible but very, very common. These days, a media stream can either be live or on demand. The articles in this section relate to audio streaming and the topics that fall under its umbrella.
